A book? Me?

Yeah, I'm doing a book: for Amnesty International. It will feature photos (and stories) of all the women who spoke or performed at Voices of Celebration, which commemorated the 100th anniversary of International Women's Day.

Here's Renée Black, ex-United Nations UNIFEM worker, and entrepreneur who is currently working to develop a programme to match volunteer tech workers with projects in developing countries. She's fun to talk with and easy to shoot.

Went to Montréal...

... where it's all about the girl, the light, and the beer.

Your favourite brewer...

... or he'd fucking well better be. Fashion Magazine is doing a feature on the craft brewing scene, and I was asked to shoot famous fanatical hophead and extreme brewer Greg Nash for it.

You can drink Nash's beers (along with a bunch of other shit) at the Hart and Thistle in lovely (just fucking with you) downtown Halifax. For a real thrill, you can drop by on any Tuesday evening and meet me and the rest of the Hoppy Tuesday crew. It's unlikely you'll be invited to sit with us, though: we probably don't like you.

More from the trenches

I need to find something a little more fun to shoot.

Some people you just can't help

A few years ago, I hit on the idea of shooting kids at my daughter's school during morning recess, and then selling prints (at, as it turns out, an obscenely discounted price) to their rich parents at the Christmas Fair. I love shooting kids, and twice, it went well: lots of acceptable shots, a few gems; many happy parents (and they should have been, at the price they were paying). Then, some silly twat got all fucking twisted up at the thought that anyone could walk into the Fair and buy a print, and well, won't someone please think of the children, and that was fucking that.

It's no wonder I'm pissed off so much, eh?
